I believe the manual states fuel filter change interval is 12000. However, given the sensitivity (or believed sensitivity) of our injectors, I've been thinking of using a 6000 mile interval.

I'm just wondering what others' opinions are...

Just remember that the injectors on our trucks work on a different principle than the injectors on a ford or chevy. There have been previous discussions on this subject before, you'll find info on it if you do a search. I agree with lschultz and Dean, every 6k is over kill, I change mine every 9-10k depending on how my oil changes are done( I may go over a few miles every now and then:).

I think there's a balance to be struck here. Every time you change the filter, you open the fuel system to contamination. The key is to change the filter at just the right moment so that you balance the number of times the fuel system is opened over the life of the engine with the capacity of each filter.

I think I will take others' advice and change every 10k.

Whether you change it at 6 or 15k, the filter is still trapping particles with the same efficiency. You are simply throwing away money, until it starts to clog and restrict performance. The size of the holes in the filter media do not change with age. I'm not saying I recommend leaving them in till they clog, however changing them any earlier than that will do nothing for you. If you're worried about fuel filtration, add a 2 micron polishing filter in line .
