Does the Fuel flow into the center of the fuel filter and trap any trash inside, or from the outside going into the center and then to the VP44?

Fuel filter

I belive it's in the side and out though the center. If your doing a filter change it's a good idea to NOT put fuel in the canister but let the lift pump do it. Eric

filter construction

Cannister filters are always fed from the outside and filtered fluid exits from the center. This provides the largest available media surface to trap and hold contamination.

I just changed my fuel filter after 10,000 miles and had no sediment in the bowl, and no water accumulated either.

Looks like I'll stay with my station of choice for awhile. :D

Thanks! I just changed mine also and with about 15,000 on this filter it was so clean in the bowl, I couldn't tell which way it filtered. Should there be visable evidence of stuff filtered out of the diesel stuck to the filter?
