Got a 92 with 140K and the fuel filter housing is leaking,I think; (fuel running down side of the block). Anyone had similar problem??/Could it be another source???Thanx!!!
That housing is pretty stout - I would suspect a line leak or as paccol said double gasket on the filter itself. I would put on a new fuel filter and band wrench it about 1/2 turn after you get it hand tight. Clean the base plate and make sure the mounting stud is tight - it will not take much debree to create a leak. Good luck
had a fuel leak on my 92 check the gaskets and everything like the guys said and if that does not work check the fuel heater. I could not find the leak for a long time finaly ran the truc and watched it looked like the wires were dripping fuel but nothing was spraying out. I untaped the big wad of tape around the wires there were some good size soldered connections for the heater and fuel was actually dripping out of the wires. After about $ 50 for a new fuel heater everything was great. I remember some trouble with the parts manual and the discription it was hard to find I had to look for it the parts guy gave up. hope this helps
