I have before and after pressure sensors so I can monitor the pressure drop across my fuel filter. I check the pressure frequently and especially for the first quarter of a tank after a fill up. Today I decided there was too much pressure drop to continue using the current filter so I changed it. Pressure to the VP is still very good. I have 102,000 miles on the truck and still have the original LP. That fuel filter lasted 33,205 miles in 17 months. I have never seen a single drop of water or dirt when tapping a little fuel from thre drain.

Yes if you buy clean diesel you won't have to change it very often. Go probably ??? 40,0000 miles on a filter and was only 2 lbs across the filter. It was only slightly black. With cleaning it with Isopropanal was very clean.

It is much cheaper.

I change mine at 12 to 15 k, depends on where I am. Original injectors and injector pump at 395+k.

I have put as much as 60k on one and never had a drop of water either. They will run a long time and I think the recomended change intervole is way too short if you are running good fuel. I also have a pressure gauge after the filter so I can watch it drop over time. I run 99% Flying J fuel and have never had a problem other then one time when I had warm weather fuel in my 115 gal. tank and went into cold country with no additive and the fuel started separating.
