Finally ordered the Frybrid kit

In preparing to convert to B20 this spring, I purchased 2 filters from Geno's garage (part number FS-19598). I called Geno's to ask about compatability with BD and they had me talk to the filter OEM. The filter itself is compatible, but the little o-ring Geno's supplies with the filter is Nitrile rubber. Nitrile is not compatible with BD. Has anyone used this filter in a BD application, and how did the o-ring look when you took it out?

After about 3000 miles, the o-ring was a lot bigger. :( I used filters from Napa without a problem. I'm not sure it was the o-ring itself or just a couple of bad tank fulls of Bio. I doubt that you will have any problems with B20 though. I was using B99.

Never thought about that before. I have been running B100 and I use Fleetguard filters from Cummins and never thought about the o-ring that comes with a new filter. Never had a problem so far, but I guess I need to check up on it. Thanks.

I had a problem the other day, fp dropped. I thought it may be a plugged filter, so i changed it. It was my lp going south. I put on my spare and put the filter in a clean plastic can.

I just looked at it the gasket is just like new only bigger. It sealed ok while in the truck, and i didnt notice it was bigger till i looked just now.

It is not melting, or make your hands black, just bigger.

Thanks for the heads up

Dirk

I have run about 10 tanks of B-5, its all I can get here, and nothing abnormal showed up in the filter, and no swelling of the gasket.

OK, so it looks like the rubber o-ring is OK with B5, and swells significantly with B99 (but doesn't break down). What about B20? Dirk, what concentration BD are you using?

I have been running B40-60. I had no issues other than stated, and would not have noticed the gasket was larger, if i wouldnt have saved the filter. If you think about it, the filter may have sealed better when it expanded, because it had no where to go. These filters were from geno's.

No trouble with filter o rings or fuel lines and I have been running B-100 since last june. I have found that the rubber o rings on my processor and filters when removed swell up and can not be reused but never leaked while in service. I have replaced them with viton and will report back when I remove them for filter replacement in the future.

So far making my own fuel was the best move I made since buying the truck. OK mybe not because some of the HP mods are pretty fun but you get the point. 100% happy with home made b-100.
