Started the truck to go to work this morning... it started and died in about 12-15 seconds; it sounded like fuel starvation. Was dark, and I was late anyway so I jumped in the car and left for work. Now to my question: I bought this truck with a PrimeLoc on it. I run a NAPA 3402 filter, and the water purge is leaking... again! Does anyone know of a filter that will fit without a valve in the bottom? Will the lack of a signal from the water sensor mess anything up? Thanks in advance... this will be Saturday's project.

If your local NAPA is as good as mine they will be able to cross a filter for you without the open bottom. Disconnecting the water in fuel sensor will do nothing other than keep the light from coming on when water gets in the filter.

I wouldn't worry about not having a sensor, but I would be concerned not being able to drain a bit of fuel/water every so often.

Although I have yet to drain any water from my filter (as best I can tell). Its just good practice, becasue the H20 is a killer.

BCFAST et al--My relocated filter started leaking the other day, and has gotten progressively worse. I am on the road, so getting quick replacement parts is tough. I noticed that one of the wires to the water sensor was broken right at the valve, and suspect that is where the leak is. I was able to do a temporary fix by changing to a filter without the sensor hole on the bottom. it is NAPA 3395. HTH.
