Fuel Filter Question

Did Dodge start putting in the 7 micron fuel filter in new trucks? If so when? Or is it necessary to have the dealer install one and pull out the 10 micron filter?

My 06 was built in march and had a 7 micron from the factory.

Yes they changed the fuel filter from 10 to 7 micron rating do to the ULSD, I still have the 10 micron filter but added a 2 micron secondary filter down stream before the injector pump.

My new 06 has a build date 0f July 05. We weren't sure if it had the 10 or 7 micron so I got some 7 micron filters from Genos and Swapped it out myself just for piece of mind Dealer was charging me about 100 bucks and I got it from Genos for 14. 95 and did it myself in 10 minutes! Oo.
