fuel filter / water separator

I need some info. Service manual Says" Hold drain valve open untill all water and contaminants have been removed and clean fuel exits drain hose. " When I open drain I get about 2 drops, then nothing. not even clean fuel? Before I start tearing it apart thought I'd ask the knowledge base. Thanks in advance.

Open and close the lever a few more times and have your catch bucket ready. It will flow out. Been in your same shoe

Try leaving the valve open a little longer. You could open the valve and hit your key to turn the pump on for a second although that might make quite a mess of fuel. I just changed my fuel filter for the first time. Instead of filling the housing the hard way I left one of the pressure test port plugs a bit loose and turned on the key. It filled up the cannister but also made quite a mess before I could get the plug tight. By the way I've never got anything but clean fuel out of mine, hardly ever drain it.

ditto on the above, just keep opening an closing it, then leave it open and watch, you will see the fuel and water (if any) come out.
