Fuel Filter

As long as my fuel pressure doesn't drop is there any need to change the fuel filter? My fuel gauge is post filter and I have only seen a drop by 1 in my pressure over 24,000 miles.



Word of caution to BHAF users make sure you occasionally tighten the hose clamp. I have been extremely busy lately and haven't checked under the hood. I thought that the turbo seemed a little louder but everything makes so much noise anyway I ignored it. Today I went to change the oil and noticed the hose had come off the BHAF. :--) I immediately put the factory air box and filter back on. How would I know if damage was done?

You can put a piece of pipe in the BHAF hole so it doesn't colapse(spelling ),the manual says 15,000 miles on the fuel filter change,I'd do it,it's to cheap not to do. My. 02

Diesels in general are very picky about their fuel filters. I change mine every other oil change, 10,xxx miles, just to make it easier to remember.

I agree, change out that FF for new, they are cheap enough. If you go to a local hardware/plumbing supply store, you should be able to pick up a 3" schedule 40 PVC coupler. They cost about $1. 50 and fit inside the BHAF to help stiffen the turbo connection. I had to file down a small 'tit' on the coupler, after that it fit great. Hopefully I'll get my BHAF installed soon and report back with .
