I am a new diesel truck owner and I am suffering from a lost of power. I had this once before and it was a dirty fuel filter. Can this happen again in approximately 5000 miles and where is the fuel filter located to replace it.

First of all, Welcome to the TDR.

Second, Click on the "user cp" button at the top of the page, scroll down to "Profile" and enter your truck's info so we can see what you're driving. ;)

Third, Bookmark www.dodgeram.org

this is Dave Fritz's website with a huge storehouse of info on the Dodge Ram, and the Cummins Turbo diesel.

Look here for info on maintenence issues and filter changes. This is from Dave's site.

Fourth, Use the search feature, and the FAQ buttons, there's alot of good info to be found.

Finally, hang around, absorb all the great info, enjoy the companionship of the best dang Diesel site on the web. Oo.

rschram,

Definitly need to know what you are driving. The fuel filter is different depending on the year of the truck. You may have a bad fuel source. It's a good idea to fuel up at big rig stops instead of your corner gas station.

Ditto on Shovelhead's remarks.
