Blow by under heavy load when towing....why?

Fan Duty Cycle Question

Our 04 Ram 2500 just sprung a small fuel leak. Basically the fuel return line at the top of the fuel tank (where it clips into the top of the fuel pump) has unclipped and I can push it back on but it just keeps popping off. It seems like the clip on the connector broke so it won't hold the fuel line on securely.

Does anyone know if we can just replace the connector itself rather than the entire fuel return line? It seems the dealer is the only one that has the part, and it's backordered for weeks... I've found it a few places online (~$75) but they want $400-600 for shipping! It seems Dorman makes some fuel fittings that look similar (see link below) but it's hard to know if they would fit and my gut says that we might tear up some of the existing fuel line trying to get the old fitting off.

Dorman fuel fitting that may work?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Check to make sure the fitting on the tank is lined up straight with the hose fitting. Chances are the tank has been removed to replace the fuel level sending unit. I've replaced mine twice. It has to be lined up or the hose won't go on all the way. The plastic clip can be found at the local parts store for cheap.

It's for 5/16 line. Here is the kit I bought when I needed clips.

Awesome! Thanks everyone, we were able to figure it out and get a new clip. The dealer and other auto parts stores did not know how to find anything though, we had to figure it out ourselves. And it turned out that the fuel line was slightly stuck on the side of the tank so it was a little too short as well.
