Fuel Gauge Not Working??

Can Someone Give Me Some Direction With The Fuel Sending Unit For The Fuel Gauge Has Stopped Working. . After Dropping The Tank B/c Of Some Algee In The Tank And Cleaning The Completer Fuel System Out. I Am Woundering If The Float In The Tank Has Stuck Or If It Got Messed Up When I Was Cleaning The The Tank. . Can Someone Tell Me How To Check The The Sending Ubit If I Drop The Tank??thanks Again Guys. . Later Robert
