Archived Fuel gauge sending unit wires

I dropped my tank today to fix the gauge (reading empty all the time). I found the wires from the fuel floater had been pulled off because the whole unit in the tank fell over. Question-is the wires blue on the upper lead connector or brown on the upper connector? Tried testing it with the key on and tried each combo but could not get the gauge to change from empty???? Help!

Not sure how they do it but there is a time delay or something in the system so your gauge isn't bouncing around every time you hit a bump.

Try to reconnect and give it some time.

Hey thanks for the reply, I took a chance and it was correct, blue on the upper connection, brown on the lower one. Gauge is back to normal!!!
