Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel Gauge

Hey guys. Does anyone know why the distance between full and 1/4 is about 10 gallons. it stays around 1/4 tank for a long time and then finally drops off. Also if u do know can u tell me what kind of repair is involved. thanks nick.

sounds to me like the infamous sending unit problem. there are two ways to fix it. . buy a new to put a band aid or do a search and there is a way to modify yours to permenatly fix it. it is a common prob wiht our truck

i remeber seeing that not too long ago. run a search on "fass on a 12 valve. " one of the guys that is running the FASS on a 12valve has pictures and explains how he modified his sending unit. hope that helps ya.
