been nearly 2 weeks now, since "BOMB"ing the sender... https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum17/HTML/001330.html
Observations:
What I thought was a damaged and loose tank to truck electrical connection turned out to be "OK"
#ad
. . here's what caused me worry:
at "Full+" (i pump until filler neck is full, nearly every time so that i have a consistent place for measuring gallons burned each time)... the sender will read proper (to the right of "full")... then, while driving hit a bump or irregularity in road and rapidly goes to "zero"/dingding, then back to original reading... this behavior led me to suspect a loose wire, or whole loose connector... . A zip-tie, and a little silicone rubber bonding the 2 mating pieces of the 4-wire connector did not solve a thing... .

Next suspicion: one loose wire on the spade connectors on the sender itself

don't wanna drop the tank again!!!
the miles go by, and the level gradually falls to F, 7/8, etc. and the sudden-drop has ceased!
Most recent suspicion: at over-full the float may be dragging the wiper off the end of the measuring contacts. . maybe I bent the little rod a bit during the work?
unless that begins happening at lower-level readings, i'm not gonna worry about it, because that annoying characteristic only lasted about 70 miles, until enough fuel was burnt to lower the float a couple inches...
sound reasonable? anyone else had these effects on a senderBOMB??
