Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Guage Lied

guage was showing . 25 tank of fuel truck died and was out of fuel. How much trouble is changeing out the fuel sender on one of these trucks? Sputnick

Fifty hits on this and no one has nothing to say, come on guys this has to be somthing most have ran in to. or is my truck with 67k the only one that has had this problem?

Hello Sputnick, there are a lot of threads on this subject, do a search for 'fuel tank sender' and you will find a wealth of info.



The search feature is located in the pull down menu under the 'Discussion Forums' tab



The fuel senders are notorious for not being accurate. The sender can be changed by either dropping the fuel tank, or lifting the bed to access the top of the tank. There ilso a post about how to repair the sender.
