Fuel guage working both main and auxillary.

I have a 1998 dodge 12v 4x4 with a 65 gal. transfer flo aux tank in the bed. All of a sudden after filling up both tanks the fuel guage stopped working. I did have a hose leak pretty bad and sprayed the heck out of the select valve on the frame but the connector looks o.k. The guage tries to move but sticks on empty on both selections. Usually through experience I've found a grounding problem but that seems not the case. Any suggestions I would appreciate.
