Not sure if this is really an emergency or not. I got my oil analysis results yesterday, and apperantly I have fuel in my oil. Any ideas of possible causes?

have you monitored with the dip stick. Did you calc out from the analysis how much oil?. Probably injector leaking by.

dipstick hasn't moved yet, not enough to see anyway. The analysis said minimal oil dilution. I would like a reason to get some monster injectors but there could be other causes I think. nozzles, o-rings bla bla bla. Anyone think of a way to test this stuff? Or is it a tear down and inspect?

I'd like to bump this back up if I can because I just got the same results from my last sample. Lab said not enough to be concerned about ( result was . 5%) and there standard averages are for < 2%. But it was higher than all my other samples. I think about the only way for fuel to get into oil is with a dripping injector, but would also like more input. Like you said, Abe, could be a good enough reason for to buy bigger injectors. :)

When running cold, some unburned fuel will get past the rings. It is normal and is more common in cold weather. And . 5% is just a quarter of the 2% normal range.

Oil analysis will always show fuel in the oil if you idle any period of length of time. . or have short commutes. Long commutes burn off any fuel and moisture that made its way into the oil. Extended drain intervals may not be ideal if you fit this mold. I drive a 100 miles a day. . and change my oil every 15K. I stopped doing oil analysis because it came back "good to go" everytime. I wouldn't run it this long if I only drove a few miles to work (stop & go). To each his own. .
