Fuel injection pump instalation

Please help! I removed my fuel pump to get it rebuilt andforgot to mark the position (location?) of the fuel lines. I did remember tp label the lines to the fuel injector, but boned it and did not marked the output in relation to the fuel injector line. I don't know if all the 1st. gen. trucks have the same pump, but this one is a Bosch rotary type with the output nossles facing the fire wall. I had the pump and the fuel injectors rebuild and can't wait to get old trusty back on the road. Thanks

To be more specific; what I need is the "firing" at the pump begining at the 12 o'clock position and moving clockwise on the Bosch VE pump. The last I heard is: 3, 2, 4, 1, 5, 6. Is this correct?

Thanks

The lines will only all fit together one way. I just fiddled around until everyone way playing together nice. Without bending lines and forcing stuff I don't know that you can get them to install incorrectly.

I had mine marked and written down, but I noticed when I put them on that they definately had to go back in a certain order. I think #3 was first. When you try putting a line on, you'll see that it will only work in one spot, and line up properly with one port.
Did your lines have little clamp blocks on them? Mine did, and I used the marks they left behind (clean spots on the lines) to help me line them up.

I think the firin order is 153624 clockwise starting from the bottom line. Will try to look it up when I find the shop manual and email you if it's different.

If you don't assemble in the proper order, you'll be there all month. I simply don't know how you could do this w/out the proper sequence. They are intertwined w/one another.

Rotation from the back (high pressure head) of the pump is C. C. They also be marked.

D=1

E=5

F=3

A=6

B=2

C=4

(That be the fire order as well)

No. One is the bottom left most port. The bottom port closest to the driver fender well.

Tag all your lines. It is not required that you cap them. (for thoes who don't know, "capping" a line is the process of installing a plactic protective "cap". NOT shooting it w/a "nine mill"... ... Jezzzzzzzzz) Simply clean the line out with starter fluid or the like and blow dry prior to install. "Capping them with duck tape or any tape only serves to make a sticky mess. #@$%!

Be sure to CAP the the ports on the pump though. With CLEAN caps too. :cool:

Removal: Clean the engine so's you can eat off of it. Loosen lines at the injectors. Pull lines 4 and 2 away from the pump connection (DV valve) You cannot remove them at this time.

Remove lines # 1 and #2

Then... ... ... ... Remove lines # 6 then #3 then #5 and lastly # 4.

I would NOT want to buy a set of used line that someone bent and pryed to get them off.

It be obvious that you have to tag them as removed and install opposite removal. Make them snug tight at pump only and leave loose @ injectors to bleed 'em. :)

I have tried the three-three method of removal and resulted in scratech (freshly painted) valve covers and bent line(s). You can do this on a P-Pump but I don't do that on rotary units.
