Hello - I was replacing valve cover gasket this evening due to small leak. When putting in new gasket and tightening connection on the 8mm nut on the first injector, I snapped one of the two bolts at the top of the injector. There is still some of bolt remaining on the injector. Is it possible to replace only the top portion of the injector? Or use some sort of soldered connection? I really don't want to buy new injector. Thanks for any assistance - Sean.

I would try and solder it, you really have nothing to loose. Worst case you buy and injector. The torque is 11 inch pounds. That is three (light) fingers on a 1/4 drive ratchet.

Thanks Sag - I'm pretty sure I hit with 11 FOOT/lbs :( ...

If that does not work for you see if someone will let you swap solenoids on a core injector that has not been sent back yet.

Perhaps TC Diesel has a spare solenoid rattling around as well.

Mike.

Mike, aren't the solenoids how the 6. 7's electronics address each injector? IDK, just thinking outloud...

I don't have one here to look at (I'm in Houlton today), I was thinking of CAT injectors when I mentioned the core raiding idea.

I'm pretty sure there is a warranty, grenaded 6. 7 out in the Bangor Power Shop that is apart. I will look at the injectors tomorrow when I return and see if that would not so simple as I thought.

Your point is a good one.

Mike.

The 6. 7 injector correction factor is very minor. I doubt any of the home installed injectors are getting any correction numbers imputed to the ecm

Didn't know that, I somehow believed it was a big deal, that 6. 7's wouldn't run correctly and throw codes without performing this function.
