tonight, i have noticed that i have fuel spilling out of somewhere in the vicinity of the fuel filter/bowl on the drivers side of the truck. i drove it today for the first time in several days, and as i was walking to the truck after leaving the ATM, i noticed a liquid dripping quite freely on to the ground, i didn't think much of it, until relizing that the A/C was off. . daylight was fading fast, but i looked underneath, and it is definitely not normal , the entire fuel filter assembly is soaked, all the way down to the differential. i will look closer tomorrow in the light of day, but does anyone have any ideas? i plan on retightening the filter top, and checking any other obvious points of entry/exit. 2004 305 HP/555TQ motor

If your truck still have the lift pump on it... it could be this connection... . the fuel line connects to the lift pump and a o-ring seals the pump to the housing

If you left the fuel cover loose the last time you installed a filter it could be the lid... .

If you or someone has had the fuel drain open, or loose it could be the drain... .

I'm betting its one of the 3 above...

The o-ring that seals the lid on the fuel filter housing. I'm sure it doesn't go bad often, but it did for me. Cause fuel to leak out and air to get in, making the fuel system lose it's prime.

well, thanks for the replies so far, i believe i have found the culprit. the cap on the filter had worked itself loose. i started it yesterday and turned up the idle for a few minutes, and looked around the bowl, and significant bubbles were spewing from around the gap between the cap and canister. it seems to be better now. thanks again!

It probably goes without saying, but just for any new guys listening in I'll say it. New filters come with a new o-ring for the filter canister. Be sure to remove the old one and install the new during filter changes.
