I recently had a fuel leak in the return line, replaced both lines and fuel filter, now it idles about 50 to 75 rpm lower than it used to.

BTW - thanks All for the recent tips on how to access the lines (leaning the brake booster made all the difference - just a few bandaids needed -).

The truck sat for about 5 days before I could fix it - just thinking maybe a lot of fuel would have drained back into through the supply line empting the P7100. I had to prime it about 300 pushes (ouch - my thumb!) before it would start. When it started it coughed sputtered then when it got to constant rpm about 34 seconds later it idled at about 600 after running about 3 minutes it now idles at about 750 rpm awioth is about 75 lower than previous.

Any ideas to what has caused this - can I drive it or do I need to purge air (if that is possible) or something first.

Thanks,

Paul

Run it, if you want it to idle faster make the adjustment. But if it runs fine now with no sputtering I wouldnt worry about it.

My idle also dropped when I replaced the supply/return line. I readjusted the idle. I also had to replace the soft line to the liftpump from the fuel preheater.

WCJP,

Is the line from the lift pump to the fuel heater a formed tube (dealer part) or just a straight piece of tubing that makes the bend. I tried a piece of 1/2" USCG tubing (thick wall marine) but it didn't make the bend to well - ended up putting the old one back on for now.

Thanks,

Paul
