fuel leak on 2001

I installed a edge EZ on my dads 2001 and crawled under her just checking things out, and found the fitting on the fuel filter holder the one closest to the fire wall was leaking hard to see from top, my bother and I have the five speeds his also a 2001 we both get better mpg than the auto thought it was the diff in the auto verses the 5 speed, maybe his MPG will increase now.

I have started to find drops of diesel fuel all along the drivers side of the truck. The first two times I thought this was something I drove over without much thought. Yesterday I realized I have a problem. I'll check this today. Thanks.
