When I finished refueling my truck yesterday I noticed fuel running out on the ground. I could see that it was coming from the top of the tank where the electrical connector , check valve & fuel supply & return lines are but couldn't see where the leak was actually coming from. I moved the truck away from the pump & tried to locate the leak but it had stopped by then. The pump I was using at the station was extremely slow & when I was done pumping I made the mistake of topping the tank off. I checked it out closer this morning & couldn't find anything obvious. Do you suppose the leak could have come from the vent line on the check valve? Is this normal if you top it off or should the check valve close to prevent the fuel from running out on the ground. Should it have:confused: a drain line added to keep the fuel from running out on top of the tank?

i have gotten some leakage when i've topped the tank in the morning and only driven a couple miles home. As the day got warmer the tasnk started dribbling. Drove the truck a few miles on some errands and it stopped. Immediate dripping while you are fueling may be a loose hose (including the fill hose) or a bad seal around the fuel pickup/return module as well...

Sounds like the vent valve on top of the tank. It is suppost to only vent air and not fuel but are known to stick open and allow fuel. Mine has done the same thing and as soon as I moved the truck it quit.

vent mod help this at all? i haven't done the mod (and spend a couple minutes shaking the bed and topping the tank) but 99% of the time i drive far enough after fueling to bring the level down a few gallons.
