I got my 2004. 5 3500 QC back from the dealer on 12/17/2010. It had the water pump redone under warranty and the anti freeze flushed and changed. When I picked the truck up from the dealer I noticed as soon as I turned the heater on and the truck got warmer I could smell a distinct odor. I parked the truck and drove my car to work because the weather has been so nice in Denver. We took the truck about 100 miles on Christmas eve and the smell became almost overpowering. Today I went over to the neighbors and there is diesel fuel all over my drive way. When a water pump gets changed are they any where near the fuel system? I am now getting check gauges light on dash and my oil pressure gauge goes to zero. I checked my odometer and I have gone through 17 gallons of fuel in a 156 miles. Anyone else had any experiences like this. I think it may have also messed up my Magna Flow Dual exhausts also.

Spray it down at a car wash. Wear eye protection. Crank it and look for the leak. It should be easy to find with that much fuel going somewhere. You may not have to spray it down first with that much fuel spraying. Good luck!

Fuel Leak II

Thank all of you for all of your suggestion's. It appears that the water in the fuel filter spigot got left open. The dealer has the truck. They paid for the tow, and hopefully they will clean up the underside and see if my oil pressure sending unit was damaged by being soaked in diesel fuel. We shall see.
