Hi all, I smell fuel in the morning after driving 2 miles to the stop sign, then smell goes away, I thought it was the rubber fuel lines, took it to my cummins mechnic. he says rubber lines are fine. but says the leak is from where the throttle linkage comes out of the injection pump, says that the seal is bad and that the bushing inside is bad and caused the seal to go. he said injection pump would have to be rebuild, and truck would be down for 5 days at a cost of $850 dollars. does this sound right or should i get a second opinion? p. s. I cannot see a leak anywhere but smell it in the am, and am noticeing a loss in fuel mileage. thanks in advance Ian:confused:

A leak where you describe requires a pump rebuild. $850 is a good price. If you can't have the truck down that long do a swap with a rebuilt pump.
