Guys,

Just noticed when I changed my fuel filter the other day that when I press the manual fuel pump primer diesel fuel leaks around the primer and gets all over my fingers. Want to know if any of ya'll have experienced this and what I need to do to fix it.

Thanks,

Joe

I hear that if you have a good housing you can get a rebuild kit. Don't know where to get one as I paid over a $100 for a new pump. Kept the old for posible rebuilding.

You can fix that for fifty cents. Remove the rubber cover. Unscrew the button. Be careful because it is plastic. Get a new O-ring. Put it back together.

Hopefully Joe G. 's input will cure your problem. I'd try that first. I had the same problem on my 96 about 8 yrs. ago. Took it to the dealer since it was still covered and they had to replace the whole lift pump/primer assembly. They had the truck for about a week :{ (which sucked), got it back & been fine since. Good luck!
