Sorry if this has been asked before. On the road towing a 20ft trailer with our whole apt in it. Stopped after an hour or so to check if things were ok and noticed diesel smell near engine compartment. Is wet along the side where injector lines go in and from looking under it must be leaking a fair amount while driving because front drive shaft is wet with fuel. No obvious leak while idling, didn't notice a crack. No obviously loose nuts on lines. Only had pliers to check. Have 2002 5. 9 with edge jwa on tow mode. Thanks in advance for any light on this. Should I stop driving? I have 3 More hrs.

Maybe try to clean/dry things off and try to see if it's coming from the return line or injector line.

Fuel heater/filter housing leak?

Pieces of dry cardboard can be handy because it darkens as it gets wet with fuel.

Good luck with it. Doesn't sound fun.

Did you check if it could be coming out of the fuel filter drain hose? It should be coming out in that area of the front axle. Maybe the drain valve is leaking a little past it. Never mind just reread your post and saw you had fuel up above. Can you see any fuel near the intake area of the head like the injection lines are seeping?

It seems to have slowed or stopped I can't tell. It's a bad time for it. Moving my entire house worth of stuff in 3 trips each about 400 miles. I will keep checking for where its coming from... I think an injector line.
