So yesterday I noticed some wet spots under the drivers side of my truck. I took a look and it looks like there is fuel coming from the back side of the fuel filter housing. I couldn't see back there too well so I was wondering if there is anything back there that I could tighten up? Or is this something I would need to take to the dealer to check out.

Thanks,
Mike

BTW, the truck is an 04. 5. .

1st off , you should fill in the truck info in your signature , all the details of how its equipped and any mods .
Need to know in order to have an idea of what the possibilities are .
When was the last time the filter was replaced ?
Use a mirror & flash lite to see were its leaking .
Some times when filters get changed , the old gasket is not removed , and with 2 gasket in place it will leak .
Beyond that would need to have more info / see .

I recently had the same issue and it was a faulty o-ring from my last fuel filter change. I installed a new one which had the yellow o-ring, maybe a revised material or something, and the leak had been fixed. Just make sure you lube up the o-ring real good to prevent it from pinching or streching.

I pulled the filter cap off and checked everything. The o-ring looks good, although my filter didn't come with a new one. Are the filters supposed to come with the o-ring?

Anyways I cleaned up everything and will keep my eye out for leaks.

Are you sure it is coming from the filter housing area? I had a banjo bold on the back of my engine (near the filter housing) that was leaking. All I had to do was tighten it up.

If you are sure it is coming from the housing area, then disregard.

Also be suspicious of injector tubes especially on cy 4 - 6. Mine started to give off a little smell. I couldn't see anything. Started on a trip and wound up dumping a half tank in 150 miles. Took two weeks for the clutch to recover from the bath.

After reseating the gasket everything is clean and dry again. :D

I also picked up a new filter to see if they come with a gasket and that one did have the gasket. .

Thanks for the help,

Mike
