Nooooo, run as fast as you can in the other direction away from the any dealer, if its going bad do a search, tons of info and instructions and part #s to do it yourself. I just did mine and relocated it with the Genos kit, real easy.

no way. the dealer will retrofit it to the tank. and i havent heard of anyone having more than like 8-9 pounds at idle. you can get a carter stock replacement aftermarket. and just like caw440 said, i relocated mine in front of the tank with the vulcan kit and it is awesome. easy install and good pressure. 15 psi idle and 11 wot. and future replacements only take about 5 minutes.

Not all dealers are out of the old style pump. I asked for the old pump and got it when it was replaced under warranty. If you want the old style pump, you will pay a little extra, as the new pump is cheaper.

From what I've heard, stay away from the new in-tank pump at the dealers. Dealers will cost an arm and a leg anyway. If the pump is fine presently, no need to replace it, but you might want to consider getting a spare or going to an aftermarket solution eventually.

Did you do the rasp yourself? Does the kit go clear to the tank. And did you do the module upgrade to make the hoses bigger into the tank?

Should I have the dealer change my lift pump on my 2000 ram, because it has 134,000? Please advise

I just saw this link http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/aboutus.asp in another post and like what I saw. It's kind of pricey but, get a quote from the dealer on replacing your LP and subtract their price from the Glacier set up. Either way w/the Glacier unit you'll have something that more than likely is 100% better than what you can get at the dealer. MHO once you are your own warranty station - only get what you "have to" from the dealer.

I have a 2000 3500 6-speed. Have about 15,000 miles on it. Pressure gauge showed a problem of 0 psi at times. Put Vulcan kit on and new LP from Cummins ($160). I now have 13-15 psi. But I plan to travel soon and would want an spare LP. In hindsight I would have put on a FASS ($400) pump with larger lines. I plan to put fuel cooler on also before traveling. JoeZ

No I didn't do the RASP myself. I don't have bigger hoses into the tank; only in the engine compartment (lift pump to VP, etc. ). I got mine from Power by Poole, so if you want to look at the setup, I believe he has pictures on the website.
