Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel line

Because of a hard starting problem that I have determined to either be a banjo bolt gasket or a bad rubber fuel line between the Lift Pump and the Fuel filter I am replacing the banjo bolts with Ray Torrestal's banjo's and new rubber line. I have read that bigger line is better. Can some one please let me know what they think is the best line and diameter to use in this area. Any help is appreciated.

3/8" is probably plenty. The suction line needs to be bigger than the pressure side.
