Cylinder Honing Question

Hey Im trying to figure out how to do a fuel log on a spreadsheet program, What Im trying to do is keep track of my mileage, fuel used, and how much money I would save over a gas vehicle. Also want something in there for when I do maintinance. What I got so far is distance traveled, number of gallons, price of diesel, price of gas, total diesel cost, total gas cost.

I know there are people out there doing the same thing just wanting to compare to see what they keep track of and how they do it.

By the way the only program I have is microsoft works spreadsheet.

Since diesel is much more than gas now-at least in my neck of the woods-your only savings would be in better economy, not lower price. In this case you might need some actual fuel usage numbers for an equivalent gas powered vehicle to compare to. Where are you getting these numbers?

For example, my wife's Durango gets horrible mileage compared to my Ram, but since it costs $2. 07 to fuel her truck vs. $3. 25/gallon to fuel mine, hers is at least the same overall cost to drive, if not a bit cheaper. Other than that, I think you've got the same info I keep in my log when I go on longer trips.

Sounds like a good project. Keep us updated please.

I started to make one tonight, it will eventually make more money than a gasser I have already seen it, I used 11mpg as a estimate for gas mileage since I know hemis don't get much better than that especially in a 2500, if I ever learn on how to post it I will

Mopar Tech,

I don't think you can post an Excel spreadsheet in the forums or send one as a PM. If you PM me with your email address, I will send you an excel spreadsheet that will do what you request.

You will need to input your regular fuel info such as mileage and total cost and it will compute everything else for you. It has columns where you can input the gasoline $/gallon and the expected MPG (11 in your example) and it will compute the gasoline total cost so you can compare. It will do this for every fill-up.

Regards,

Louis
