I have been checking my milage with every fill-up over the last 2 months. About 3 weeks ago (around the first of the month) I installed a ATS manifold and Piers turbo. As you can see i have other mods. as well. My mileage all throughthe winter has been 15. 5 to 17 at best. The last three weeks about 3 fillups I have been getting 18 to 18. 6 being the best. Could this be the swicth april 1st. to summer fuel or the turbo mods? I am also running my comp on 4/5 and 5/5 most of the time till the newness wears of a bit. Anyone seeing improved milage now that summer fuel is here? or any have the same trubo noticed an increase in milage! Thanks, Dave:) :)

I would think it is the fuel but then I don't have first hand experience with the manifold and turbo so I could be wrong. :)

Dave D...

... You might give Piers a call or send him a note asking the same question. He probably has enough feedback by now to have a good "range" of expected gains (fuel mileage, power, reduced EGT)with those two modifications.

Gardnerville Nevada... I agree with Chipstein, some of it is probably fuel related. You guys are just coming out of the ice age there. We just had new snow on the ground here 4 days ago. All gone now but still cold at night. Fuel is still slightly cut.

Winter fuel

My guess is it is the change from winter fuel. My milage has been getting gradually better for the last month or so. Before my last trip to New Mexico I put on a Peirs HX-40 and a BHAF and my milage seemed to be slightly better then the previous trips.

When I put my comp on 5/5 I can only get about 10mpg's. When it is off I can get 15mpg, on 1/4 it is about 14mpg. This is city driving. Is this normal? I would believe that the more fuel you use to make more power that the mileage would drop off. I see a lot of posts that it doesn't get worse for some people and sometimes gets better when they turn there box up. I find this hard to believe. I can believe that putting bigger injectors in can improve mpg's due to better fuel delivery. Any comments?

Thanks for the posts. Jon, I to didnt beleive you could see performance gains with fuel milage increase WRONG!. when I put my first mod on it was a VA box I got from BD. I saw big HP gains and also a slight mpg gaiin on the hiway. I know have injectors comp box and turbo and Ats manifold and I just filled up today to my amazment i got 18. 6mpg again. Ii do think most of it is summer fuel but I would like to think some of it is the manifold and turbo. What ever it is I am happy:) More is better when it comes to power and mpg's. Dave:)
