Just got my truck back from the dealership after complaining to Dodge about fuel mileage. They performed TSB 18-013-08, reprogrammed ECM to AY. TSB 11-002-098, Installed turbocharger cleaning port and cleaned turbo, performed turbo and emissions systems inspections and test, cleaned all intak and egr systems. Cleaned both O2 sensors, blew out differential pressure lines. Also performed TSB 11-002-07, no smoke from exhaust performed aftertreatment regeneration/mobile desoot. Cleared all load, duty cycle and regenerative filter timers. Also the CCN was updated.

Comments on the invoice talk about desoots. What is a desoot?

I hope this helps. Will let everybody know.

Truck is a 2007 6. 7 3500 SRW Quad Cab Long Bed SLT with 6speed manual with 3. 73 gears.

The work they performed will keep the soot build up down, but will do nothing to improve fuel economy.

good deal, thats hard as hell on common rails, I know when the common rails first came out they were having problems with mileage, they ended up changing some software and for the most part they get good mileage.

Took my truck to the dealer yesterday for CEL, ended up with AY flash and a new DPF. The overhead said DPF 80% full about a month ago for the first time since the truck was purchased in June of 07. Ran the truck on the highway for an hour to clear the fault per the owners manual, no other messages since, but dealer said DPF clogged! The apparent good news: the overhead mileage seems a bit better, but will wait to compute at next fillup before declaring a minor victory.

the only way to increase mileage and performance and avoid trips to the dealer for flashes, and bandaids unfortunaly is to do an egr and dpf delete.

Boy, I sure would like to do the egr and dpd deletes but I live in an area where they do emissions testing on diesels. I am hoping Banks comes out with their system by the end of the year.

In my opinion banks is a freaking joke, just wait, other companies will make a better product at half the price of what banks does. He needs someway to pay for all the advertising that he does

who is working within the legal smog equipment requirements to improve performance and mpg?

it's always less challenging to circumvent the laws, compromising the vehicle owners warranty and setting the owner up for fines.

remember the 70's and 80's smog equip on gas. the performance and muscle car fans said there would never be muscle cars again. well the 4 bangers now produce more power and performance than the muscle cars of old.

unless i'm wrong, banks appears to be the only one attempting to accomplish this.

sure would like to find a mfg to improve my mileage and performance living within the parameters dictated by the gov and dodge.

thanks for any help

the connector is right next to egr valve I believe it's Brown just unplug it and tie it out of the way if you want yes you will get a cel but no ill effect to running of motor and fuel econ will go up .
