Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
My 89 with 4 speed auto, non-lockup, and no intercooler, gets 14mpg unloaded or 14mpg loaded. It pulls strong.
My 94 with 5 speed, gets 20mpg unloaded and 13mpg loaded. It pulls less strong, but is much quieter in the cabin. The load is a Lance 800 camper with generator and electric jacks, plus a motorcycle traqiler with two Harleys or a horse trailer with an Arabian and a Paso Fino. My Tundra gets 15mpg unloaded, and about 12mpg pulling the trailer. It is constantly downshifting pulling the trailer. It obviously cannot carry the camper!
