Hey there '83,
Is your HX40 a stocker or hybrid???
In general you'll need the fuel to run it...
Do each one seperately and judge the results. . make notes. . it will help in the end...
It will be a bit slow to come up on boost but it will give you lots of air at the mid/upper range.
Pressure test you IC if you haven't done so.
Watch boost #'s and EGT's closely too... .
Set your AFC cone to max rich (makes alot of smoke difference)
Set your timing up
Set your Starwheel about 3 turns from the bottom (adjust for smoke)
Set your high idle (governor) to 3000 RPM by "high idle test", or by running it WO in 2nd gear. Watch to see were the engine "pull" starts to fall off, and were the tach finally tops out.
That is your "defuel point' and governed speed respectively.
Your "full fuel screw" can be run in a bit if it isn't already... .
You will find you have a bit more smoke at idle/low boost but it should clear up nicely after you come up on boost...
