I dropped the fuel tank on my '97 2500 this afternoon to repair the fuel level sender. My question is this: I know the lower half of the module is supposed to move up and down, but how freely should it move? Mine is fully extended--I can see that it has been resting on the bottom of the tank--it moves but it feels like it is spring-loaded. It takes some effort to get it to move up. I can see where the retainer screws (the ones that move up and down in the slots on the sides of the module) are wearing into the sides of their slots. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Thanks!

Paul
