Truck is having issues and I'm at a loss as to where to start. Went to breakfeast yesterday morning and didnt notice anything strange, but when I'm hungry... . Anyways on the return trip I noticed some missing and caughing going on running 35-50mph.

When we got to S-C to get the boys hair cut it was sounding like an old tractor. Checked DTC's after shutdown and there was High Rail press, check... something. Cleared it and it drove the same on the trip home, but the DTC didnt return. I also stopped and put 15 gal of fuel in. I'm afraid to get out and drive for fear of further damage.

I'm not an expert but it seems fuel related... I just changed the fuel filter 200 or so miles ago but will pull it and see if that helps anything. Also, my performax setup just went down completely so I cant monitor any pressures, its been a rough week. Any other suggestions? Please, please, please.....

Should probably add some info... Using AirDog and running a single Stage III CP3. Engine mounted filter is deleted. Have never had an issue until after this filter change. Could it be defective?

When did you put the 15 gal of fuel in? After it started misbehaving?

Need to check and be sure your fuel pressure is good, although it probably is with an Airdog.

The sudden problems after a filter change makes the filter change highly suspect. I'm not familiar with the Airdog setup - that's using canister filters, right? Minimizes the chances of introducing contaminants?

I had a very similar set of circumstances after I bought fuel a couple months ago. P0193 code for "Fuel Rail Pressure High", intermittent miss, stumbling, etc. It cleared out after a few hundred miles.

If you bought fuel before the problem occurred, I suspect you purchased some that may have had some contamination.

Well I took the truck out today to top off the tank and didnt experience the major issue I did on Saturday.

Basically went like this. Have been filling truck every friday on the way home from work, for the last 6months or so. The past couple of weeks I've just been throwing in 10-15 gal here and there. Last weekend I changed oil, filter and fuel filter on the AirDog. Wed of this week I stoped in on the way home from work and put 10gal in. Drove it Thurs and Fri with no issue, with roughly 1/2 tank. Now it is the 46gal T-F mid ship tank.

Sat it seemed to drive ok on the way to breakfeast then issues showed up after. Put 15 gal in from a different station, the one I normally go to, and the issues continued on the way home. Let the truck sit until tonight. Drove around a bit and could not get the problem to show back up. Picked up some 2-Stroke oil, put 48oz in the tank and topped off with 8gal. Drove home with no apparent issues.

The code that showed up I believe was P0193 like jgillott mentioned but I was so frustrated from recent events I deleted before rationality set in that I should have made not of it. Stupid move.

From searches done since posting and after a few phone calls here are the recomendations.

1) The SGA on the CP3 is going.

2) The pressure valve on the common rail is the culprit. Same person from 1. .

3) The FVA on the rail needs to be replaced. This was a search on here that other people seem to be showing similar symptoms to mine. I just cant seem to locate it to unplug and test like the other person suggested.

4) Another bid for the Rail pressure sensor.

But now that it is running ok for now I dont want to take it to the dealer. Grrr bad things only come in three's right?

With a modified CP-3 the first thing to suspect is the FCA. Doesn't tak emuch and near impossible to tell what happens but the modded ones just quit working correctly.

Brian, did the outside temperature get higher yesterday? Just trying to elminate some kind of gelling issue.

So replacing with a stock FCA would be a No No. ?

Ryan - Not drastically. Since last week it has bounced from the high 20's to the low 50's. Truck sits in heated garage overnight.

Ok. So no problems have come back as of today. Had it out on the highway with no issues, probably 30 or so miles. As I'm still leary about the FCA, and contacted Shane, I will probably replace it anyways.

I'm curious about bad fuel and me adding 2stroke as a temp fix. One addition is that I have been running the truck on Stock tune since. I'll re-tune to Smarty lvl 3 and see what happens.
