I got dynomite 75 hp injectors,180 pump,3 disk converter (15 blade),3000 springs, stock turbo, Keep in mind I have a suburban. I was searching and reading about the plates. It does seem that #5 & #10 was used alot. I am thinking on number #5 but I do not want to loose alot of mpg. I am just tring to find a happy medium if possible. :D.
Also I am wondering if I go with a #5 as it is showing on the chart as a red zone is that because of my trans will not hold up or because it will just smoke to much?

Thanks for all the help & opinions
Joe

I've got a #5 in my '96 2WD 3500 Auto, and at a steady 65 MPH unloaded I can get just over 23 MPG. I've got the timing set at 15. 5 - 16 degrees. With the #5 you can adjust plate position to just about eliminate smoke. At 65 my EGT runs just under 600F.

With your 3 disk TC, you should be OK.

I'm by no means an expert, but I seem to think whatever plate you got in there... the mileage is determined by your right foot.

My truck has 3. 55's and it seems to do best under 2000 rpms. Which is right about 65mph.

As soon as I go over that, the mileage suffers terribly.

I just put the #5 plate from tst in my 95 5speed. I ran down to flint michigan just last weekend running 70-75 the whole way and got 22mpg. And that was with no cruise (just another one of those things i have to fix). Now as far as smoking, well i noticed that it dependeds on how much i have my foot into it which really hurts the mpg's. I love my plate except now i am clutch shopping.
