I don't know if this is a 911 emergency, but I need some advise. I have a 1997 Ram 3500 with the 12 valve cummins. The truck runs great just a little hot. I can get about 35 pounds of boost, but can easily hit 1200 on the pyro before leaving 4th gear. I got the truck used and most signs point to the fact that the previous owner knew nothing. The only number I can see on the fuel plate is 24242. Other than gauges and a south bend clutch I haven't done anything to this truck, but I don't want to buy an engine. Does this number mean anything? I'm would rather not find out its a "custom grind. " Thanks.

If you can give us a picture it could be identfied. Or-- a detaled discription of it shape.

Welcome to the site.

Definitely seems to be a hp plate on it to hit that PSI and EGT.

But if he disabled the waste gate you could see those PSIs and EGTs. The stock turbo after 28 to 30 psi just makes heat.

The engine has the boost elbow on it already. I don't think they diabled the waste gate, but I will double check. Thanks for all the help!!!
