I removed the preheater (one above the sediment bowl) on my 96 2500.

Any good sources to get one from, what is cummins getting for one of these?

thanks

I would leave it out.

Go pu some fuel anti gel additive at a truck stop. The stuff lubes your injectors too.

Pick me up some too while your at it :-laf

I like to run Howes :D

geno's sells them i already chucked the catalog from this quarters TDR mag, but thought they were like 30 something bucks.

It's about $40. I thought about pitching mine but decided to keep it since I think it helps with fuel viscosity & atomization in real cold weather.

I paid $38 at rocky mountain cummins. My truck starts much better now thats working. It sputtered quite a while at -8 the other day.

Is that price for the whole fuel heater or just the element inside?

Somehow I thought the fuel heater unit was $100something to replace. Im chasing down air leaks so I might be checking that price soon :(

when mine went I just never replaced it. you can totally remove it from the system and screw the sediment bowl right back up to the housing after you remove the mounting stud for the heater, prob. a 20 min job.
