Can this work with our trucks, or is it overkill? Reason I ask is I came across a Duramax guy who has one that he doesn't need. It's brand new, and I can get it for $150. Not too shabby... So, will it work?
Pirate4x4 IMO the concept of the preparator/fass is marketing/overkill. I don't believe in the water/air separation concept. . If you need anything, it's a pusher pump if you don't have one on your truck yet. . Although I can't imagine you running tst +twins with the stock fuel setup, now that would be funny.
I think the 135A was the design the FASS was taken from, it's the design that was available to us before they put out the "airdog" which is just smaller and built specifically for pickups. At 150 bucks I dont think you could go wrong, might be a little extra work to get it mounted but it's been done before and you can probable search the boards and find some good info.
It has more fuel pressure than you probably need but it will work. Buy it and call Ekstam. They can change the pressure if needed. I had one on my 1999 PS and it worked fine. The Airdog is quieter. If you don't want it I'll buy it. Harry
