I am installing a electric fuel press guage in my '01 truck, but want to use an old freon gauge set hose. Using this hose you do not have to remove the schader valve . Any pros or cons.

Not sure how long the A/C hose will hold up with diesel in it. You may want to find an old one and let it set in a bucket of diesel for about a week to see if it disentigrates. I dunno, they tend to dry rot fairly easily. Other than that if the threads are the same, GO FOR IT!

Tell us how it works out if you go that route.

A freon hose is fine as a temporary test hose, but i would not use one in a permanent installation. Its not just the diesel fuel that is a problem, but heat too will degrade the hose.

Remeber the saying "You can pay a little now or alot later". Do it the right way and use AN hose and fittings or at least fuel hose designed for that purpose. If you try and save a few bucks by using an old freon hose and it bursts, that is the end of your truck ALA BBQ style

Used a T fitting.

I was able to get a T fitting to go on the valves with the plungers that I installed on the fuel filter from a refrideration guy I know. The bottom of the T opens the valves. One side of the T has the valve and a cap. The other side has the valve stem removed. I installed a flared swivel hose barb and attached a hose suited for diesel use.

It's convenient if a second connection is needed should I brake down and take it into the dealer for a test.

I also found it to be a good thing to when I primed the system again. Just push on the valve stem on the T - have someone bump the starter- when fuel comes out(some foam at first -caught it with a rag just under the outlet)-let the stem go. Started right up and no rough idle.

Just a thought.
