What is the thread specification for the output fuel pressure check port on the top of the fuel filter module on my 1999? Without removing it, the plug appears to be 1/8" NPT.

I intend to use that port to install a flex-hose and mechanical guage to occasionally monitor lift-pump pressure from under the hood. I assume this occasional monitoring is OK for a mostly stock engine. Lift pumps don't fail catastrophically---do they?

Thanks.

I just installed my fuel pressure gauge and I posted some pics of what I did. It is 1/8 npt for the pressure taps. I don't think anyone can predict when a LP will go south. I would rather watch it all of the time. IMO.
