Can anyone tell me where to check the fuel pressure on a 2001. 5 ETH? It looks different from the earlier trucks. Also, if it IS that nipple sticking out the upper rear of the filter canister, what fitting will work there?

There's one test port on the pump side of the fuel filter, and another post-filter just before the injection pump. I'm not sure, but I think they're 1/8" MPT. I just got back from Home Depot trying to find a fitting for my new fuel pressure guage. They don't carry a 1/8" FIP to 1/8" MPT, and I couldn't find anything that would do that without using 3 or 4 fittings (grrrrr... ) Since I havn't found the right fitting yet, I'll be waiting to make sure I'm getting the right size.

Just made up a quick gauge to ck the pressure today using a AC charging line (old style) and at NAPA (no auto parts avail) the hose was 20$. Cut the end off that doesnt have the center pin in it and used a barbed fitting to adapt to gauge. Connected the gauge to the input to the filter for the trip (bout 80 miles). Works gud and found 10psi at idle (11-12 when key first turned on). Running @ 70 it was a steady 8, but when going WOT it drops to 2psi. Looks like I'll be getting the dealer to change lift pump agn (on 3rd one now). Will look up that "NEW" part # for em. Next long run will be after filter at the injection pump after doing a before and after filter ck. Just ran it under the hood and laid it by the wiper. Was easy to read and didnt interfer with the wiper. No possible fuel leak in cab either.
