Hello - First of all I am happy to be a new member here - this is my first posting and hopefully I am not asking already answered questions... .

I have a 2001 with the Banks Powerpack - she's in the shop right now getting about $2800 worth of Suncoast love installed and when she comes out I'm sure I'll be tempted to test it out. I have already had one VP44 go bad in this truck and it was covered by warranty. I have read previous posts about the vulnerability of this injector pump to vacuum, and the dependence on a healthy supply pump.

I am going with the 'anything but vacuum' school and really don't want to start fixing stuff till it needs it. The FASS system looks nice but I am thinking a Hobbs 2 psi pressure switch installed in the pressure test port with a dummy light would notify me of dangerous low pressure. This way I can monitor the existing system and not spend the dough on replacing good parts.

Anybody have previous experience with this set up? If yes what components and where to tap?

Thanks in advance - Eric Lee in Kalamazoo MI www.leecustomiron.com

Welcome to TDR, hope you have your pocket book ready. Instead of the light why not just run a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor your pressure all the time. Just a thought. Good luck and have fun here on TDR.

BD makes a low pressure fuel light kit already. It is in the Geno's cateloge and is availabe through any BD dealer. It turns on a led if the fuel pressure drops below 5 psi. I installed one in my truck, very simple and inexpensive.

Thanks - I called the boys at Geno's and am happy I did. I only have one eye and I really didn't want another guage limiting my view. I already have a 2 pod egt/boost on the a-pillar. so I decided on a Westach 0-16 mounted in the cubbyhole next to the radio with a guage mount plate Geno's gifted me. Thanks Geno!
