Im ordering a fuel pressure gauge and dont know if I should get one that goes over 15 psi. Any help on this matter would be great. I plan on adding a fass soon if that matters.

I'm using an Autometer 30lb electric gauge. I would go that route if you are going with a FASS because most likely it will put you at 16psi minimun.

The first gauge I bought was a 0-15, since I was mainly concerned about too low of a fuel pressure. I didn't really like the idea of a needle that was pegged or close to pegged most of the time, though. So, I bought an SPA digital fuel pressure/oil temp combo. They're a bit pricey, but they are fully programmable and have several nice features like low pressure/high temp warning lights and peak recall. Plus, they'll read any pressure my fuel system will generate (to the tenths) no matter what system I have installed. The oil temp sensor would be handy for the auto trans, too.

Dakota Digital and Nordskog also make nice digital FP gauges.

I've got a 30lb Di/Pricol FP gauge. As mentioned above, most FASS/AirDog system consistenly run over 15lbs so I would go with a 0-30lb gauge. I like having the needles read straight up and down rather than pegged out too.

Thanks to all!

Thanks guys! Your knowledge on our trucks is unsurpassed. I'm going to get a gauge that will atleast do 0-30psi if not a digital one. Thanks again cause I almost got a 0-15 one.

The part # for Autometer gauge is 2660. Just e-mail Autometer. Tell them what your looking for a 0 to 30 for a Diesel. its spendy, but then so was my truck. :-laf

The range of the guage is not important,,,the bosch injector pump needs. . (per a Bosch engineer. . ) has to be no more than 16 psi. . Psi higher than that causes internal damage ... Even though alot of owners say no problems so far running higher pressures... . I have 2 pumps and run through a mechanical regulator adjusted for a maximum of 15 psi at idle. so I have a 0-15 guage

Middle of gauge is the most accurate. 0 - 30 psi. I use Westach solid state. On gauge for VP I have had a problem with pressure spikes killing the gauge over a year's time. Am trying a different snubber system on VP gauge which seems to be working, but will not know till this summer or winter.

I've been using an adjustable needle valve as a snubber for about two years now with no problems. I have it on the end of an 18" length of rubber hose (to absorb the pulses), and my electric sender screws into the valve. I leave it cracked open just enough to let the psi's reach the sender. Aside from the one time it screwed itself closed and gave me a heart attack (suddenly zero psi in the middle of nowhere), the gauge readings have been solid.

gauge

I have a 0-30 psi DiPricol mechanical... . wouldn't have anything else. I have an almost new 0-100 autometer electric sitting here under the desk... wasted many $$$$$ on that one. Electric isn't the way to go in my book, too much variation with the voltage changes in the system... grid heaters, accessories... etc. :( :(

I run a 30lb Di-pricol gauge. I put a carter pusher pump on and now I idle at 29lb and cruize at 25lb.

Save your $$ and get a 30lb gauge.
