Well it is about time to add a fuel pressure gauge. Where is everyone been mounting their F. P. Gauge. I am also still not sure whether to go with mechanical or electric. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ?

:) :) :) :)

Thanks !!!!!

If you plan to mount it in-cab, then you BETTER go with electrical.

too many fires and spills have been caused by mechanical guages/fittings/hoses leaking.

There is no harm really in running diesel into the cab of the truck. Gasoline however is another story.

Remember diesel is a much different beast then gas.

Kat, i wasnt just reffering to fire,

once you turn loose (leak) even a small amount of fuel inside the cab you will have to live with the smell for quite a while

Jeff, I've been running a SPA FP/temp. gauge for a while now and I'm real happy with the setup I have. The SPA uses an electrical sender, which is mounted on the Schrader test port, pre-filter. Here's two links... .

For adapters check out brandon's site or, better yet, just give him a call at his shop

For SPA gauges, check out Nowel (HVAC's) site

Both of these guys are great to do business with, best of luck.

Don't like the smell of diesel? are you nuts? hehe :p

Rather it be diesel then gas... ..... ;)

Just didn't want people to be afraid of the diesel fuel itself (first time diesel owners).

I would use an eletrical gauge if you are going to mount it in the cab as someone else pointed out because of potental fuel leaks. I mounted my sender to the Schrader Valve on the back side (closest to the firewall) on the fuel filter canister.

Kat, I agree diesel fuel really sticks after awhile when in the cab as my brothers 6. 2 diesel blazer leaks fumes into the cab sometimes and after about an hour of riding in it you really start to fell sick.

I have the S&W elect. fule gauge. Mounted in the small 4x4 box in the dash with a plate from Geno's. Works fine, easy to see day or night. Had my pillar already filled.

I was definately leaning towards the electric gauge, seems it would be the safest choice. Now as far as location where have you guys mounted the fuel pressure gauge. I will be adding a total of 5 Autometer Ultralite gauges. Thinking maybe in cups across the mid portion of the dash. I had seen this in a previous post, it looked very neat. The real trick, I guess would be routing the wires through the dash. Would it make more sense for the FP gauge to be on the dash with the others, or down below the dash @ knee level ?

:) :D  ;) :p Thanks !!!!

Mine's at knee level right now, would not recommend it. Very difficult to check those psi's at WOT. Do it right the first time and take the time to mount the FP gauge where you can easily read it while driving.

fuel pressure install?

Hey guys how hard is it to install the sensor on a 2001 truck? I'm about to install the pyro, boost, and possible fuel pressure if it's not to hard to do. I just want to know if it's worth buying the triple piller mount now. Thanks.

hv2hunt, it's a "piece O cake". The hardest part is laying across your engine while putting the fitting on. You just remove the Schrader valve from the pre-filter test port and then place the new fitting with sender on.
