Ok I did a search on this and just couldn't find what I wanted. After installing my FP gauge and running it for a few days it has gone from @ 23psi at idle and @ 16 at WOT to 30 at idle and same as above for WOT. Why has it gone to reading 30 at idle and cruising? I know this was on here before and I just couldn't find it. The sender is fron Geno's and is on the post filter port on the filter head. Do I need to move it to the pump? If so how do I do that? What all is needed? Thanks for any help. P. S the gauge is a 0-30 psi Westach in Cubby hole. Thanks Dan

Bad sender.......

Or maybe a bad ground wire. If your fuel set up is stock you shouldn't read over 15-16 at idle. If it's staying pegged at 30 it's probably getting full resistance or the opposite, an open. Check the ground connections first, if it was working OK and now it isn't it sounds like something came loose.

Tried the ground wires and even redid them and still have 30 psi sometimes. The sender is on top of my filter in the post filter port. Sometimes it reads 30 psi and sometimes it reads 23 psi at idle. But even when I stand on the throttle it will come back to about 15 to 16 psi whether it was reading 30 or 23 psi before I stomp on it. I am confused and need advice from anyone who has had this problem. Do I need to use a grease gun hose and isolate the sending unit? any help is appreciated. Thanks Dan

Mine does the same thing. I think it is Geno's sending unit. I'm getting a regular guage so I can check it direct.

Are there any other sending units that will work with westac guage?:(

I just called Geno's garage about my problem and they are sending me a new sending unit. Give them a call, I'm sure they will fix the problem.

I was surprised what great service they give. Talk to Andy. :D :D :D

FP Guage

Your sending unit is probably fine. I have mine hooked up the same way & if you install a short section of rubber hose to isolate the sending unit from the fuel filter canister instead of screwing the sending unit directly into the fuel filter canister it will work normal again. I also added an additional ground to the sending unit body but until I installed the snubber hose it didn't work right.

Worked for me... ... .

My gauge wouldn't stay pegged but it did have wide swings up to 29 psi and down to 2psi. Put a needle valve on it and closed it all the way then opened it just enough to get a reading and it has been fine since.

Still not right

I got the new sender from Geno's (great service by the way) And rechecked all wires and even put on new ground wire and rechecked all fittings and installed a 12" grease gun hose for isolation and it still reads 30psi at idle and cruise around 28-29 and WOT I can bring it under 20psi pretty quickly. Could it be the gauge or is there anything else to check? Thanks for any more help guys.

P. S by the way could my new LP and Carter and new Filter just be actually allowing this much pressure? Thanks Dan:mad:
