Where is the best place to get 5" exhaust?

Edge attitude

OK, I finally have the gauge and isolator ready to put in, read all the instructions included and can find nothing telling me how to get the antifreeze into the 1/8 tubing on the gauge side. What is the secret?

I can't remember for sure but I think on my instructions it said you only need to fill the tube if it is longer than 6 ft. Mine isn't, so I only put the antifreeze in the isolator chamber. It's been working great. No problems. I hope this helps.

You could use a small hand bulb, or a syringe to draw the antifreeze into the tubing. Just tape the tubing to the end and put the hose in the jug. Draw the hose full and it will hold while you make your connection to the isolator, then to your gauge.

02 - you can do it without filling the hose, but I recommend it. At first I did just fill the isolator and the gauge worked, but I never got as high of readings as I should have, and the needle moved very slowly. Now that the line and isolator are full, the gauge moves a LOT faster and is more accurate. I filled the isolator, and once I started the truck the coolant moves up the line toward the gauge. At that point I disconnected the tubing, and filled the isolator again, which did the trick. You guys will laugh but I actually used a straw to fill the isolator... dip it in the antifreeze, plug the top of the straw, and move it over, lol. .

You can get a small (medium?) feeder from a pet store for under $5 to fill the tube. It looks like a big plastic syringe.

Guys, There are some great suggestions. I am willing to try whatever it tsakes to get it done right. I am going to try to fill it this weekend. Hopefully all goes well. Did you guys use anything to seal the pipe threads like teflon tape or pipe dope?

Thanks

Frank

Hate to say I used dope :) but I have read many posts stating that diesel will breakdown the readily available thread tape.

All you need to do is charge the isolator before you put the fitting on the guage side take a pencil and with the eraser side push down isolator diaphram fill with antifreeze. Then remove pencil and install fitting. Air in the guage line is not any concern. Isolator should have bleeder screw on fuel side to get all the air out of the fuel side. The guage kits I sell come with these instructions.
